2008 Scholarship Qualification Requirements

The Applicant Must:

Be a current college student or graduating high school member of the award year.
Be a Tyngsborough or Dunstable resident.
Be accepted in a recognized, certificate granting institution. e.g. College or university, junior college or community college, skilled trade training program, etc. Paid apprentice training programs not included.
Be of good character and citizenship. To be demonstrated through a written statement (250 words or less ) and personal interview for finalists.
Have been involved (within last four years) in community service of some form. Provide details on type and duration of service.
Submit two written references attesting to his or her character and worthiness. One may be a relative.

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life; the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
