2008 Scholarship Qualification Requirements

The Applicant Must:
- Be a current college student or graduating high school member of the
award year.
- Be a Tyngsborough or Dunstable resident.
- Be accepted in a recognized, certificate granting institution. e.g.
College or university, junior college or community college, skilled trade
training program, etc. Paid apprentice training programs not included.
- Be of good character and citizenship. To be demonstrated through a
written statement (250 words or less ) and personal interview for
finalists.
- Have been involved (within last four years) in community service of
some form. Provide details on type and duration of service.
- Submit two written references attesting to his or her character and
worthiness. One may be a relative.
Object of Rotary
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a
basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
- The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
- High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of
the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each
Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
- The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal,
business, and community life; the advancement of international
understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business
and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

"Of the things we think, say or do:
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"
